Description
" Framed Loon Feeding " is an original fine art wildlife photograph and digital artwork by Sandra Huston.
This image captured while kayaking Woodbury Pond in Litchfield, Maine showcases the devotion of a parent feeding its chick with the hot July sun reflecting off the calm surface of the lake and highlighting the backs of the loons. After uploading this unique photograph I decided to use my artistic license and added a few layers of matching borders and a transparent frame for the public to enjoy. This contemporary artwork would look exceptional reproduced as a canvas, acrylic or metal print for any nature lover’s home or office.
Loon facts: Common loons are larger than the other loon species. Adults are 28 to 35 inches (70 to 90 centimeters) long with a wingspan of 60 inches (152 cm). Their weight ranges from 3.5 to 17.6 lbs. (1.6 to 8 kilograms). Common loons breed in forested lakes and large ponds found in Greenland, Iceland and northern North America. In the winter, they live along the Pacific and Atlantic coasts of North America, Iceland and Europe. Wikipedia
