Description
"Osprey in Flight" is an original fine art wildlife photograph by Sandra Huston.
I captured this osprey in flight just as it pass in front of my deck on Tacoma Lakes, in Maine. I would have not noticed it at all but heard it plunge into the the lake on my far right next to the shore line. This poor osprey did not judge the depth of the lake and was severely stunned when it tried to land in the pine tree above me. It took nearly 20 minutes before it recovered and flew away across the lake. Sadly it missed the fish it was trying to catch.
Honored to be featured in the following Fine Art America and Pixels.com groups:
* Images That Excite You on 9/16/16
* Wild Birds Of The World on 9/16/16
* FAA Portraits - Birds on 9/16/16
* New England Photographs on 9/21/16
* 10 Plus on 1/18/23
Fun Facts: The osprey tolerates a wide variety of habitats, nesting in any location near a body of water providing an adequate food supply. It is found on all continents except Antarctica, although in South America it occurs only as a non-breeding migrant.
