"Midnight Run" is an original equine soft pastel painting by Sandra Huston.
This artwork was painted with soft pastels on black suede crescent mat board. I wanted to see what I could create by letting my muse take over instead of using a photograph as reference which I do when drawing a custom portrait for my clients. At the last moment I added silhouettes of wild horses running in the moonlit clouds across the top, to finish the portrait as a fantasy wild horse running free at midnight with its nostrils distended after its run through the moonlit night.
