The Black-Eyed Susan is the state flower of Maryland and is officially known as Rudbeckia hirta. These annual and perennial flowers include dozens of varieties that come in various shades of yellow, orange, orange-red, and even mahogany. This flower is also called Gloriosa Daisy. Our wild roadside Black-eyed Susan’s are charming, carefree North American natives that are perfectly at home both in gardens and meadows. All have daisy-like flowers with beautiful dark ‘eyes’ and brightly-colored petals which emanate pure joy. They are all bee friendly, attract butterflies, birds, and are deer resistant.
This photograph commonly called Gloriosa Daisy is from the black-eyed Susan’s/sunflower family which includes the following keywords to describe the category with which it is displayed in; sunflower, Rudbeckia hirta, Black-eyed Susan, Gloriosa daisy, mahogany, yellow, flower, summer, floral, summertime, garden, botanical, sunlight, nature, photograph, Sandra Huston, Maine Artist, Pixels.com.
