Tsavo - is an original African lion soft pastel painting by Maine artist Sandra Huston.
After adopting a rescued leopard named Jabal in 2010, I decided to paint a pastel portrait series of several of the other rescued cats residing at Tiger Haven in hopes to generate more awareness of the plight of these wonderful big cats. This is the second pastel portrait in the series of a male lion named Tsavo. 20% of the sale of each original pastel portrait and prints sold from each original will be donated annually towards the continued care of over 300 rescued big cats residing at Tiger Haven.
