Description
I photographed this gorgeous Pink Hibiscus with the sunlight back lighting its large petals outside at the Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory in Massachusetts late in September. They not only have the largest indoor butterfly garden in New England but also provide an out door garden to attract butterflies and hummingbirds for the public to enjoy.
Hibiscus is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. The genus is quite large, comprising several hundred species that are native to warm- temperate, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world. Member species are renowned for their large, showy flowers and are commonly known simply as hibiscus, or less widely known as rose mallow. Many species are grown for their showy flowers or used as landscape shrubs, and attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. Wikipedia
