“Pastel Painting of Eastern Bluebirds and Apple Blossoms” is an original soft pastel painting painted on Crescent Moorman Suede mat board by Sandra Huston.
A soft pastel painting featuring a pair of Eastern Bluebirds perched on an apple tree branch surrounded by apple blossoms in spring. In this painting I was looking for a softer rendition of the apple tree branch and placed the focus more on the bluebirds and a few of the apple blossoms, leaving the leaves of the apple tree to fade in the background. Working with soft pastels and Crescent suede mat boards gives the artist the ability for both soft and detail work and is one of the reasons it is my favorite support to paint with using soft pastels.
