This image was captured at Popham Beach State Park in Phippsburg, Maine the day after another bomb cyclone hit the Northeastern United States on Friday March 2, 2018. Hurricane-force wind gusts reported through coastal New England into Friday night with gusts topping 90 mph. The strong onshore winds lead to significant coastal flooding at high tide on Friday with water levels approaching all-time record levels in Boston and Nantucket. In this photograph you can still see the fury of the storm 24 hrs after it hit the Northeast with the pounding waves and rip currents along the shoreline at Popham Beach. Mother nature showing it strength and wonder as the rolling waves crashed to shore.
Popham Beach State Park is a public recreation area covering 605 acres on the Atlantic Ocean in the town of Phippsburg, Sagadahoc County, Maine. The state park occupies a dynamic shoreline landscape that has created a peninsula between the mouth of the Morse River and the Atkins Bay portion of the Kennebec River. Wikipedia
