Description
Burgundy Bee Balm and Ruby-throated Hummingbird is an original nature photograph by Sandra Huston.
I captured this beauty in my friend Cecile’s back yard in Durham, Maine after she called me to let me know that her bee balm was in full bloom with hummingbirds coming each day to feed. The bee balm plant is a North American native, thriving in woodland areas. Also known by its botanical name of Monarda, this 3-foot-tall perennial bee balm attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.

I have a friend that has monarda in her garden and she always have hummingbirds visit and fight over their delicious sap. Beautiful photograph. I hope that this year, I'll be able to go and see her and not be in lockdown! :-) Maggie

Ohhh, I am sincerely in love with this beautiful capture!! Jealous as well because they are so wary of humans around here, and so fast as well, it is nearly impossible to capture them! Super beautiful work!!
