Description
I photographed this Blue Morpho at the Magic Wings Butterfly Garden in South Deerfield, Massachusetts in September. If you love butterflies like I do than you will have to visit Magic Wings when you are in the New England area. It is the largest indoor butterfly garden and conservatory featuring gorgeous tropical plants, an indoor pond with a water fall, with 100's of butterflies from all over the world.
Honored to be featured in the following Fine Art America group:
* New England Photographs - 11/8/17
Blue Morpho Butterfly Facts: The Blue Morpho Butterfly is found in forests from Mexico to South America. Morphos will come down to the rainforest floor to feed, and will often fly into clearings to warm themselves in the bright sunlight. They can also be spotted near streams. The ventral side is decorated with ‘ocelli’ or eyespots. Not all Morpho butterflies have iridescent coloration, however, they all have ocelli.
