This beautiful Purple Clematis was a present from my son for Mother’s Day and is growing beautifully in my summer garden in Lisbon Falls, Maine. This particular perennial is called Vanso Blue Light and blooms from early summer through fall, producing star-like blossoms that are pale to dark purple. I captured this image with the setting sun back lighting the leaves and blossoms of the clematis, lupine and morning glory creeping up the trellis.
